About The Author

When he’s not being pursued by relentless gammons through the festering corridors of the comment section, Sam Gore is a British stand-up comedian who started gigging in 2007. By 2009 he had cemented his position as one of the best new comedians of his generation with five New Act of the Year awards, including the national Laughing Horse competition. Over the following years he has proven himself as a comic and MC who can keep the laughs rolling anywhere from weekend clubs to music festivals, biker rallies and theatres. With his rapid-fire delivery and unique use of language and imagery, nobody writes a simile quite like Gore. His skills as a writer have landed him work with some of the UK’s top television acts, seeing him write for performances on Mock the Week and Comedy Central’s Roast Battles.

Gore is the sole writer of all the bizarre satirical stories you can read here or on Facebook. His Monday updates often reach a quarter of a million people from a core group of 60,000 followers and fans. In Edinburgh 2017 he took I See You – Live to the Edinburgh Fringe, where it received praise from both critics and audience members alike.

Press Quotes:

“I See You Live is a savage indictment of an equally savage political landscape, with plenty of beautifully splenetic lines to savour.” – Steve Bennet, Chortle (****)

“Gore is a master satirist… A funny show for the uninitiated and a bloody entertaining hour for established fans.” – Broadway Baby

“Truly exceptional… confident, clever stuff” – Simon Moore, Giggle Beats

“Superbly crafted gags that showcase a vivid use of imagery and language… great wordplay, refreshing honesty and a wonderfully dark view of life” – Andrew Dipper, Giggle Beats

“Wicked and dry and magnificently funny” – Barbara Rossa, BSH Magazine

Writing References:

“Whenever I’ve used Sam to write jokes for me on topical shows, he has always responded to the brief really accurately and has provided material that has suited my voice yet has really managed to take a subject to places I may not have thought to take it. Sam has always met set deadlines and completed exactly what I have requested of him. I would definitely recommend Sam as a writer of strong material, and will definitely be using him in the future.” – Angela Barnes

“Sam wrote jokes for me on Mock the Week and I used a bunch of them. He’s such a good writer that I hope he gives up as I don’t need the competition.” – Gary Delaney

“Really quick turnaround of brilliant jokes and angles I would never have even thought about.” – Brennan Reece
